The American Dental Association recommends having a routine dental exam performed by a dentist, every six months. The check-ups performed at Dr. Rick Jackomis’s clinic include a thorough dental cleaning followed by a comprehensive dental exam and oral cancer screening.

If Dr. Rick Jackomis finds any areas of concern, he will help you understand your treatment options. This might include preventative treatments to help maintain healthy teeth and gums.

If Dr. Rick Jackomis has concerns about the strength of your tooth enamel or the overall health of your teeth, he might recommend a basic fluoride treatment. This can be performed immediately following the dental checkup to help strengthen your tooth enamel and prevent potential cavities.

Dr. Rick Jackomis will administer the fluoride treatment by pouring concentrated fluoride gel into special trays. They will need to help in your mouth, along with a small suction wand, or a few minutes.

It’s best to avoid eating or drinking for up to an hour afterward to allow the fluoride to deeply penetrate your teeth.

If you don’t have ready access to municipal water, or Dr. Rick Jackomis has further concerns about the health of your tooth enamel he might also prescribe fluoride supplements. This often comes in the form of a prescription grade concentrated fluoride toothpaste or mouthwash.
