Rick Jackomis, D.D.S.

Dr. Rick Jackomis maintains a modern and progressive general dental practice in Potomac Falls, Virginia. His practice focuses on the latest restorative, aesthetic, and implant dental solutions coupled with extensive preventative and periodontal therapies. To facilitate delivery of the highest quality of care, he has developed the practice around a talented team of professionals and the latest technology available.

Since graduating from dental school at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Jackomis has embarked on a path of lifelong learning and service. He continues active membership in the dental community on both national and local levels. Professionally, he has achieved Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry, and has both written and lectured on behalf of the American Dental Association. He is a member of the Spear Education Faculty Club and also mentors CAD/CAM education for CerecDoctors.com. Additionally, he has been recognized for his extensive volunteer efforts to expand local oral healthcare access for low-income residents in his community.

Among other organizations, Dr. Jackomis is also a member of the Southeast Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Legal Medicine, and the American Dental Association. Moreover, he regularly participates in multiple local study clubs that as affiliated with larger national educational groups.

Sue – RDH

Sue is a native of Northern Virginia and has worked in the field of dentistry for more than 30 years. Her background includes experience in orthodontics, periodontics, and as a clinical hygiene instructor for Northern Virginia Community College. She has been recognized by the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic for numerous volunteer hours of providing dental hygiene to the members of the local community. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association. Additionally, throughout her career, she has held several volunteer positions for both VDHA and NVDHA.

In 2006, Sue began working with Dr. Rick Jackomis to facilitate delivery of the highest quality of care. She is able to achieve this goal by attending continuing education courses, listening to her patient’s concerns, and utilizing the latest technology. She has witnessed many positive changes in dentistry. Her passion is empowering patients with knowledge, while customizing their individual needs regarding the life-saving benefits of a healthy mouth.

Sue states, “In this practice, I am grateful that Dr. Rick Jackomis allows me the freedom to try new products. I am able to introduce up-to-date hygiene concepts for the betterment of the patient and create a positive experience.”

On a personal note, Sue and her husband visit their extended family or travel internationally. The summer months are active for her, with canning the produce from her husband’s garden. The fruits of her labor are enjoyed by all! Throughout the year, relaxation for Sue is being absorbed in a book, whipping up a nutritious meal, or learning technology for personal growth.

 

Jessica – RDH

Jessica graduated in 2006 from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science-Forsyth Dental Hygiene Program. After relocating to Northern Virginia, she started working with Dr. Rick Jackomis in 2011. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association, and continues to exceed her continuing education requirements each year so that she can provide patients with the best and most current technology and highest standard of care.

Jessica has made it her mission to work hard to understand her patients’ needs and concerns during their dental visits. She has a gentle touch and is able to alleviate anxieties patients may have, while providing the highest quality of care available. She hopes each of her patients can walk away at the end of their appointment with a better understanding of their own oral health and with a smile on their face. She loves working in such a progressive practice as this one where the entire team works together and supports each other while striving for excellence.

Outside of the office, Jessica stays very busy with her family. She cheers for the New England Patriots, enjoys sailing and, when time permits, reading a good book.

 

Elsee – Dental Assistant

Elsee spent most of her life in the Manassas area. In 2014, she began her career in dentistry and earned an associate’s degree in applied sciences from ECPI Manassas Campus. Elsee wants to continue her education in the field of Public Health. Working one-on-one with people is a satisfying and rewarding career choice that allows her to provide service.

Elsee began to work for Dr. Rick Jackomis, DDS in 2016, and is learning to excel beyond her chair-side skills to include sterilization and inventory management. She contributes to the practice by being active and willing to aid her co-workers, and learning challenging new skills. Her favorite part of the day is interacting with patients who may be anxious, and she uses her calm demeanor to put them at ease.
During her free time, Elsee enjoys the outdoor life by hiking and kayaking in the Shenandoah National Park. She comes from a large family that is spread out over the USA. This is very convenient when traveling because she can spend time with her relatives. Elsee gives back to her community by leading the Children’s Ministry of her church and volunteering many charity functions for helping children.

 

Jimmy – Office Administrator

Jimmy graduated from the dental assisting program of Northern Virginia Community College in 2012. During his time as a student, he interned for Dr. Rick Jackomis, and transitioned to a full-time position in the office upon graduation.

Since joining the team, Jimmy has had an ever-expanding role in the office. He initially started as a chairside assistant and laboratory technician. His love of photography was discovered, and he added office photographer to his duties and responsibilities. His next role was to assume front desk administration, a role he has been serving for over a year and a half. Many people have gotten to know him in this capacity as he has managed their scheduling, insurance, and finances. His next transition is ongoing into a wider business management role.

Jimmy enjoys new challenges and looks for ways to improve his knowledge base, traits that have made him an essential member of “Team Jackomis.” He attends continuing education events to learn new technology, procedures, and techniques. He also uses his bilingual background to facilitate treatment for our Hispanic patients. His greatest satisfaction is interacting with patients to show them the differences in their mouth before and after treatment.

Outside of the office, Jimmy focuses on his family, is active with his church, and participates in numerous sports. He feels most relaxed and at ease while traveling with his wife as they discover new areas of the United States and countries abroad.
