You probably understand that there are a few steps you’ll need to take if you’re hoping to keep your pearly whites clean. For example, you probably know that you should schedule regular checkups with our dentist. This is very important because it will give us a chance to remove tartar from your teeth. Still, you probably understand that it’s also important that you clean your teeth and gums well on your own.

Of course, it’s vital to brush for two minutes at a time twice on a daily basis. Still, did you know that the type of toothbrush you use may have an impact on your oral health? This is why we recommend buying a brush with soft bristles. If you are using a brush with hard bristles, you could actually hurt your teeth and your gums. Similarly, if you brush too hard, you could be damaging your teeth.

We also recommend taking good care of your toothbrush, which you can do by storing it in an open area where it can dry out. You should also rinse out your brush each time you use it. Lastly, please be aware that you need to replace your toothbrush fairly often. In fact, we also suggest replacing your brush at least once every three or four months. Finally, please remember that you should replace your toothbrush after you’ve had a cold.
